Workshop: Discover Your Food Psychology

A person living in Singapore today can expect to live up to 83 years old – an increase of 17 years from the 1960s. With life-spans increasing, it is not only about the length of time that people live now but the amount of time that people are healthy. Instead of “life-span”, the term “health-span” is increasingly being used, which refers to how many years a person can remain healthy.

The food that you eat has a big part to play in your “health-span”. There is extensive evidence that food is intrinsically tied to our health and well-being. Statistics show that in the United States, 20% of all deaths are caused by food-related diseases, such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. The good news is that with the right healthy food choices, you can reverse some of the effects of these diseases.

However, it can be hard to stick to choosing to eat healthy food all the time. Have you ever tried telling your friends or family that you are on a diet during gatherings? How about having no healthy food choices near you, or having no time to get a healthy meal?

You may say that making healthy choices is all about discipline, but is discipline really it or is there more to it?

As each person’s body is different and there are experts who can give you advice on which diets work for you, in the Dwelling Challenge sessions, we will instead use a coaching approach to help you examine your mindsets and attitudes around food, uncover unconscious motivations that lead to the choices you make, and create goals around food that you choose and can work towards.

What you will gain through this 2-hour session:

  • Explore your relationship to food and uncover unconscious mindsets and attitudes that could be preventing you from achieving optimal health and vitality

  • Create clear goals and action plans that will transform your food habits

  • Get coaching tips and community support to navigate through obstacles that keep you from progressing towards your goals

This session is part ofThe Dwelling Challenge: Health & Vitality series. Join us for the upcoming sessions as well to stack up your accomplishments and create amazing results for yourself!
